Prestige Granite & Marble has been carving out
a reputation for itself as a quality provider of natural
stone and quartz surface countertops for over 15
years throughout the Central Florida area. Their
35,000 sq. ft. facility in DeBary may be your first
clue that Prestige is a ‘cut above’ its competitors but
it certainly won’t be your last.
“We’d like people to know,” says owner
Mark D’Agostino, “that if you recognize quality,
you’ll see the difference in our work. From the first
time you meet with one of our designers, to slab
selection in our warehouse, to the way we match the
natural ‘flow of the stone’ to the template of your
installation, there is a standard of quality with us
that you won’t find anywhere else.”
One big difference with Prestige is that they
import their stone directly from the countries of
origin. Buyers there select the stone based on its
uniform quality and appearance and Prestige makes
its purchase, eliminating markups by a middleman.
That ensures a high quality product and a lower cost
at the same time.
But the stone itself is only a part of
the story. It’s how Prestige works with
the stone – and its customers – that
defines the Prestige difference.
According to D’Agostino, “Anyone can do
straight. We have invested over $2 million in stateof-
the-art technology and equipment to be able to
deliver even the most complex designs, with the
most detailed edges, curves and bump-outs, at a consistently
high level. ‘Hand-crafted’ is just no match
anymore for the perfection of cut and finish that our
computerized systems can accomplish – and I can
show anyone who visits our facility the proof.
“Because each piece of stone is unique, it’s
important that people are trained to make the most
of what each piece gives you. Before our sawyers
make a cut, they look at the template of a customer’s
installation – often with the customer on hand – to
plan where the seams will fall and how specific veining
and coloration can be optimized to get the full
effect from the stone.”
Installation is another ‘clear cut’ Prestige
advantage. “We have installers on staff that have
worked with us for over twelve years,” says
D’Agostino. “Other companies sub out that part
of the job to cut their labor costs and keep prices
down. Unfortunately, that keeps the quality of the
end result down as well.”
At the end of the day, it truly is all about the
quality. Price is important, especially in today’s market,
and Prestige Granite & Marble is very competitive.
They’re also, because of their size, one of the
few companies who can take on multiple projects
of any size. But they would urge any potential new
customer trying to decide between companies for
any size job, large or small, to look a little deeper
than just the square foot price of granite. As owner
D’Agostino says, “We’re not the $30 granite guys.”
But if the old adage “you get what you pay for”
is ever true, when it comes to Prestige Granite &
Marble, you can set it in stone.
