AS SUMMER SHIFTS INTO FALL
It's a good idea to make some minor adjustments to your typical landscape maintenance
protocol. Small changes can make a huge difference in the over all appearance of your
landscaping as the weather begins to get a little cooler.
FERTILIZE THE LAWN
If you choose to only fertilize once a year, fall is the best time to do so. The reason
is simple. Turf grasses have the ability ot store food during the winter months, which, in turn,
helps it to rebound in spring.
DO A MULCH CHECK
Do a mulch check. fall is a good time to freshen up your beds with new mulch to create a
clean manicure look to your lawn.
PLANT TREES AND SHRUBS
Fall is a great time for planting many deciduous evergreen trees and shrubs.
PRUNE PROPERLY
Pruning of limbs is essential to maintain tree health, prevent infections by diseases
or infestations by certain insects, improve appearance, and prevent serious damage to
life and property.
REPAIR SUMMER'S DAMAGE
Replace brown fading plants with vibrant and colorful annuals. Repair and patch grass areas
that have taken a summer beating.
PAVERS SPARKLE
It's never a bad time to consider replacing an old worn out walk way or driveway with
new updated pavers. Check with your local landscape professional for colors and options.
WEEDS BE GONE
Control weeds with a pre-emergent herbicide in the early fall.
