Lee and Julie R. Collier, owners of Signature
Kitchens, have an almost unfair advantage when
it comes to creating stunning kitchen designs for
their clients. Yes, the husband and wife team have
the experience – the two of them together account
for over 50 years in the kitchen design industry. But
more importantly, they're each accomplished and
even passionate cooks. According to Julie, "Both of
us know how to use and abuse our kitchen." That
comes in very handy with a design philosophy that
puts both form and function on equal footing.
"Like everything else," says Julie, "kitchens
have a life span. Cabinetry gets tired and outdated,
finishes wear and people grow out of what they have.
When that happens, more and more of our clients
are choosing to renovate instead of relocate. Their
children are settled in school. They are settled in their
homes. Now they can have the kitchen they always
wanted, in a home they know and love."
One of the many things that sets Signature Kitchens
apart from their competition is their emphasis on
educating their customers. No matter what you know
or think you know, both Lee and Julie are there to
steer you in the right direction. "A lot of people go
to the Internet to start the process. Unfortunately,
there's a lot of bad information out there and people
don't know the difference. They certainly don't know
what things cost and how to maximize their budget to
get the most out of it. That's where experience in the
industry comes in."
A Signature Kitchens client will learn just how
construction types can influence design choices. How
to know when a cosmetic upgrade should take a back
seat to function or vice versa. And most importantly
for many, which manufacturers are really worth the
money they charge and why.
"When a customer comes to us, we have a little
educating of our own to do as well. We need to learn
about them, their goals, likes, lifestyle, expectations.
We'll go to their home to assess the project – before
any obligation or commitment. We owe them to put
forth that effort. It's the best way to create a kitchen
that's truly an extension of them, their home and their
life. It's also the only way we can meet our own high
standards and we are our toughest critics.
"Almost all of our business is through referrals;
either from a friend or family member, or from an
interior designer who knows our work and is advising
a client of their own," says Julie. "I like to think it's because of the level of service we provide and the trust
our customers develop with us."
The Signature Kitchens showroom is on West Lake
Mary Boulevard in the Home Goods Plaza. It will be
your first stop on a very satisfying and rewarding
journey. No matter whether it's a remodeling job or
new construction, Lee and Julie will be there for every
stop along the way.
"It's because we love what we do," says Julie.
"When a job is completed and we see our client just
get really excited, that is thrilling."
That may be the best reason of all to give Signature
Kitchens a call.
